Transportation from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

What is the best (most cost effective, but safe, reliable, and comfortable) way to go from Tel Aviv (Dan Panorama Hotel) to Jerusalem (Sheraton Park Hotel)? There will be two of us, and we will have our luggage.

Travel agent is offering a transfer for $118.

Thanks.

Do some googling on sheruts, which are sort of like shuttle vans. A friend of mine took a sherut from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv last year and I believe the cost was somewhere around $10 US.

If a sherut isn't for you, I think a taxi would still be cheaper than $118.

judilie,
I've been researching an Australia trip and have come across several of your past posts. I wasn't sure if you were still reading the Australia forum. You've been to all of the places I'm interested in and I was wondering if you'd mind if I emailed you with some questions. My email is pchang1972 at yahoo dot com. Thanks!

Just walk to Ben Yehuda. Most of the buses and minibuses running from Ben Yehuda street go to the Central Bus Station. From there take a minibus to Jerusalem which departs just outside the Bus Station. Everything will cost you around 30-40 shekels.
