Too many options!! Need help

I am getting ready to finalize plans for Safari to Tanzania for 2014. So many companies to choose from. Have gotten quotes from several. Would love to hear back from anyone who has traveled with The Africa Adventure Company or Access 2 Tanzania . Both have been wonderful to talk with and cost is comparable. If you have traveled with either of the two please give me your thoughts. Very expensive trip and so excited. Want to make the best choice with the right company. Thank you for your help!!

I used Africa Adventure for a trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe. Everything went smoothly, no problems - and I was traveling alone, so a bit more concerned about glitches coming up. I would definitely use this company again - dealt with Lynn Glasgow.

Here are some comprehensive trip reports for Access2Tanzania sent in by travellers who went with them in the past...

And then at the risk of causing more confusion for you, here is a list of the top three Tanzania safari companies ranked using reviews...

How many times has this exact post title appeared? Such a common sentiment because the options are indeed overwhelming. Even the names of places and camps are confusing at first.

I have used AAC about 10 times. All has gone well each and every time. (See details in link below.) Although I am Lynn, I am not Lynn Glasgow, nor anybody else associated with The Af Adv Co.

Here is a link that might be helpful.

My Feb 28, 2013 9:10 post in the above link showers accolades on AAC.

If I could get myself in gear to do my latest trip report, it would say nice things about Kiliwarriors and Eben Schoemann Signature Safaris. I've used them 2x in Tanz (2011 and 2013).

One thing to ask, if seeking out exceptional sightings such as predators hunting, rare birds, or photos for serious photographers and if staying out for very long periods of time is of interest, is stats about mileage limits or time limits. Typically safaris do several hours in the am and come back and then do a couple hours in the pm, with a daylong trip thrown in now and then. If that sounds good, then mileage limits are probably not so big of a deal. My Eben safaris have extended our time in the field and resulted in some of the more memorable sightings of the trip (nursing cheetah cubs, cheetah kill, albino baboon, albino vulture on carcass, leopard cubs in a tree, lions on kopjes, eles spending the day in a picturesque swamp) All were during the traditional down time of 11 am or noon until 3-ish. Not that you couldn't see these things if you were back at the tent/lodge for 4-5 hours midday and out just morn and afternoon, but being out there longer increases your odds, if you don't mind getting a little warm and eating boxed meals.

In addition to a good safari provider, you can seek advice here on the specifics of the itinerary when you get that far.

I think I already replied to your post last month with the same info. I went with A2T in February and was very pleased. If you are happy with how Casey has handled you to now, that is directly indicative of how good you'll be treated on safari with them. My full, very detailed trip report is available here on Fodors by clicking on my name. Hope this helps you decide!
