The Grace Hotel (Johannesburg) is closing
The Grace Hotel in Rosebank, which has been one of the best places to stay in Johannesburg for many years, will close this month. Seems that a bunch of high-end hotels opened for the World Cup, and The Grace apparently has not been able to compete. Unfortunate; it was a nice place to stay.

I'm sorry to read The Grace is closing.
My husband and I have stayed there twice and really liked the cozy, colonial atmosphere of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff.
The mall next door was handy for picking up any last-minute necessities before heading out on safari.
