Can't speak for the cost, but if you are getting a taxi from a hotel (or business) be sure to have someone help you negotiate a FIRM price for the ride. An added tip is fine, but the cost of the trip should be determined before you drive away in the taxi.

I think what Grcxx3 has said to you is the best advice your gonna get to be honest, its exactly as she says.

You cannot say exactly how much a taxi is going to cost until you actually negotiate the price yourself. All people can do on here is assist you with a guideline.

As well as that you need also to take into consideration the time of year that you are travelling - for example are you travelling during ramadan?

If there is a major football match on at the time watch Cairo Change! traffic eases tremendously etc.

So, its not so clear cut as you might think to get a price and a duration of your journey. What Grcxx3 has said to you gives you a great base to start with.

If Casual Cairo pops in then perhaps she can narrow it down a bit more for you but other than that, it depends on many other elements.
