Hi! My husband is an Indian citizen. Is it ok for him to get a visa on arrival in Tanzania (Dar)? My best friend (also an Indian citizen) and I were in Tanzania last January, and he was issued his visa at the airport (Arusha), no problem. Hubby and I will be there THIS January. Hoping/Assuming nothing has changed in a year, but thought I might run it by you guys. Thanks!

I can't speak to the issue of Indian citizen, but when we arrived in Dar last January the airport was very hot and the line was very slow and long. I was happy to already have our visa so that we could breeze right through and head to our hotel ahead of the crowd.
You can purchase your Visa at any official border entry point, whether by land or air.
So, yes... whether at Kilimanjaro/JRO, Arusha/ARK or Dar-es-Salaam/DAR airports,
or Namanaga, Taveta, Isebania (to name a few) land crossings.
Visa on arrival....
Always good to check timatic for current health/visa requirements. This is what the airlines agent is checking for you when you hand him the passport/ticket at the check-in counter.

ok, thanks guys! yeah, checked that site, and it says it's fine to get it at the airport. of course, never been through dar, so not sure how long and nasty the line will be, as you say, TC. arusha was a breeze last year. we'll see how much of a hassle it is to get before. thanks again!
