Tanzania Experts Question: Best routing from Los Angeles to Arusha

Jump to last reply

Hey Fodorites, THANK YOU!
It's been a while since I posted. I am going to Tanzania at the end of May 2013 and the airfare portion is boggling my mind. I have been to East Africa previously and flew LAX to Las Vegas to New York, to A'dam to Nairobi. My preliminary research seems to suggest that it's easier/cheaper to fly to Kenya then Arusha because flights to Arusha are crazy expensive: (my buget is about $2000/$2500 pp plus change) Does it make more sense to fly to Kenya and take overland routing to Arusha? I wouldn't mind the extra time if it will save me $$$ (hey it's all adventure, right?) If ANYONE has done this, or has any tips for most cost effective way to get to Arusha, please let me know! THANKS SO MUCH this is for my honeymoon and I'd like to get it all set up ASAP :) Happy New Year.
