Suggestions for the honeymoon in the Canary Islands???

We're considering a Sept 98 honeymoon in the Canaries, any suggestions for places to stay, things to do, etc.

Any specific island recommended?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try Tenerife, do not be put off by it being a very popular resort. There are some very smart places to go, some fabulous countryside and mount Tede. THE hotel is 'Gran Hotel Bahia Del Duque" with its superb beach and restaurants etc. etc. Must be the best place to stay almost anywhere. Look at ~ http://www.canaryweb.es/hbduque/

I do not have shares in the hotel! Have a look and see what you think. If you are interested, e-mail me for more info on Tenerife.

I live on Gran Canaria, the OTHER big island, and I would say to avoid Tenerife. Gran Canaria, too, is overdevelopped, but at least the concrete jungles are in a few small areas of the island. The rest of the island remains amazingly beautiful and unspoiled -- and unvisited by tourists who never leave Vacationland. Every one of the islands has something to recommend it (although, if you can only see one, I'd vote for GC, just because of the variety of climates and scenery, small towns, big cities, and empty countryside). Go to on eof those bookstores where you can sit and look through the books -- The Insight Guides are particularly good about the archipelago. YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE.
