Special campsites Serengeti; booking Agency

Hello,
Hope someone can help me.
We will be going with a full equiped 4x4 car from South Africa all the way to the Serengeti in July 2016.

It will save us a lot of time if we can book the special campsies on forehand and pay by credit card and that the permits will be send to us by a courrier.
That way we save a lot of days driving because we don t have to go to Arusha and we don t have to go through the Ngorongoro Conservancy..
So who can help us with a name of a booking agency for booking the Special Campsites for us.
What will be the fee for organising this.
We live in the Netherlands so the permits must be send by a courrier.
Hope someone has a good idea.

You would book the special campsites through TANAPA (www.tanzaniaparks.com). Some questions for you, though... What time of year to you plan to visit? Have you any experience doing a self-drive safari? The Serengeti is nothing like, say, Kruger N. P. There are few if any signs and rough tracks (hardly can be called roads). There are no facilities at the special campsites such as ablution blocks or water, so you'll need to carry everything with you. Also, I don't know of any way to get to the park without going through the NCA. You won't have to pay the Crater fee if you're passing through, but there is still a fee.

Hello Shaytay,
Thanks for the response.
We are very esperienced and have done 14 self drives in all kind of parks and mostly we stay at special campsites so we are used to the no facilities part.
We love the issolation and the privacy.
We have a very good equipped 4x4.
we have are own gps and allways with the new tracks4afrika on it.
We know we can pay everything at the gate but the special campsites must be booked and paid at Arusha Tanapa park office.
We are lokking for an agency that can do that for us because this saves us a lot of days driving.
We arfe coming from Zambia and would like to use the Ndabaka gate in the north.
If someone can help us with this that would be really great.

Okay, so you're entering from the west into the Western Corridor. Be sure that your rental company will allow you to self-drive in the Serengeti. Self-drive companies in Tanzania don't. http://www.roadtriptanzania.com/insp...-national-park

Also, it's not just a matter of booking the campsites, but also possibly needing to get the CRDB card to pay your fees at the park entrance. I don't know if that's required for private parties, but all tour operators have to use them.

If you haven't already done so, you might just contact the park warden's office directly at [email protected] and ask them your questions. Another resource would be TATO (Tanzania Association of Tour Operators) at [email protected]. They might know of a member that would do this for you.

Hello Shay Tay,

We have a rented car from a company where we rent for 7 years and are allowed to all the country s and parks.
The CRDB card is not needed we can pay everything 9 parkfees, car etc. ) at the gate even the public campsites, but we like the special campsites and that must be done / booked by Tanapa in Arusha. I allready contact all the email adresses from the office in Tanapa and their face book account till their game warden; no answer
Thanks for your response
