South Africa-vaccinations/visas?
Quick questions! Coming form Canada to SA...
1. Do I need/should I get any vaccinations-?
2. Do I require a visa?
I realize I could make a few phone class and get this info but this website is so convenient and informative
Thanks

As above, no and no. If visiting Kruger June - August, malaria meds unnecessary (it's too cold and too dry). I might update MMR vaccine if you are over 50 or so. Hep A and B only if very cautious. Lots of good info here:

Hi jdurham!
If traveling with children under 18, you must bring their Unabridged Birth Certificates (aka Original Birth Certificates) in addition to their passports. If traveling with children under 18 and only one parent/guardian is traveling, then the non-traveling parent/guardian must fill out an affidavit giving permission to the traveling parent. This must be done within 6 months of the travel dates.
Please see the links below for further info and details regarding these requirements as well as the affidavit template:

Thank you so much for this information. My daughter is 15.
1. Why the original birth certificate?
2. Her father is deceased. I assume the death certificate is what I would bring?
Thanks again

Take both the original birth certificate and the death certificate. On the Parental Consent Affidavit, there is a tick box for deceased parent(s).
There is no real point in asking why, I would just follow the rules. If they want an original birth certificate, that is what I would take. These are relatively new rules and are strict.
They want two consecutive blank pages in the passport as well, although everytime I have been, they stamp on pages which already have stamps. But still, I follow the rules if I want to be let in and out of South Africa.

Clarification: I am the guardian parent travelling form Canada to SA with my 15 year old. Her father has passed away. I will bring the original death certificate. Do I also need the Consent Affidavit?? I don't really understand it and don't know what the 'official stamp' is?
