Jump to last reply

Hi All,

I'm going to Gambia this october and am currently lookign for things to do while I'm out there. Saffari and visiting beaches etc is on the list but am also wanting to do something a bit different. Anyone have any good ideas?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

    Hi J,

Or is it Bruno? Am very jealous of your upcoming trip to Gambai!
I haven't actually been but it's on my list of places to go as my sister just got back from there and loved it!

Once your'e out there you will find lots of cool and interesting things to do, so I wouldn't worry about being stuck for things to do. If you want to do something a bit different and that really immerses you into the local culture, I would really recommend having a look into Holiday with a Heart. I participated in one of their day sin Thailand and loved it and my sister participated in one of their days in Gambia as they work all over the world. I was helping in an environmental charity planting trees but sister did a day teaching english and art to children who have little or no access to education.

Both of us had an amazing experience as the people we met were so humbling and inspiring and we both felt it's important to give back to countries you visit. My sister is not actually part of this forum but I can get her to write a bit more about her experience on my account if you would like?

What ever you end up doing you will have an amazing time!

    Gems
