Sim card mainly for data

Travelling to Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Sth Africa, what would be the best way to have internet in all 4 places?
Of course one card wouldnt do it all, that would be way too easy!
Thanks in advance.

I always buy a local sim and pay as I move. This is quick and reasonable. All one need is to provide a copy of the passport, photo and a duly filled form. You'll probably spend 20-30 mins in a store buying and registering, activation may to an hour or two. Buy the data package of your choice.Calls are mind-blowingly inexpensive.
Your local contact would be the best person to advice on service providers and coverage in the areas you intend to visit.

If you are on the usual tourist circuit, the coverage is excellent. In remote areas such as the Central Kgalagadi & Kgalagadi Transfrontier NP you'll need a SAT phone for communication.

As far as SA and Zambia there should be no problem,Network is superb. Zimbabwe has some issues in certain areas.

Ensure you phone is unlocked.

I just came back from South Africa. The sim card in Vodacom was 50 rands (around US$4) and the plans were around 199 rands (around US$15) for 1 GB and 99 (US$7-8) for 500 MB. I don´t know if you can use them in other countries and have low roaming fees or if you need to buy sim cards in every country.
