I'm curious if anyone knows of a day trip from Dubai to Abu Dhabi that includes a visit to the mosque. Every single one of the tours (both group and private) that I have come across does not mention going to the mosque or even seeing it and yet it is listed in the guidebooks as a "must see." The stops listed in most of the day trips sound fine, but if I'm not going to have a chance to see the mosque I don't know that I would bother going. it certainly sounds like an amazing building and I would love to at least be able to go inside (which will likely depend on which day we go there).

I think I would probably hire a car and drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi - it is not a very long drive and you can take your own time with the sightseeing.
