Seychelles Weather Question...

Jump to last reply

Hello friends!

I am planning a huge surprise for my parents, want to take them to the Seychelles...

The only time I can take off work is in June - how is the weather there during this month?

I know it's the tropics and except to have rain, but do not want to go there in rainy season.

What should I expect?

Nancy, I am sorry to say this but unfortunately the Seychelles are overrun by young honeymooners from Europe. It is not place where any person over 30 would feel comfortable. In matter fact someone will let you know that you are not fitting in. This is what happend to us and we were 49 and 50 when we went in June 2000. From there we went to Mauritius and it was fantastic. There we met people all ages and we were very welcome wherever we went.
Regarding weather it was raining on Mahe a lot and some rain on Praslin but humidity was killing us. It is hard to do or enjoy anything if it is hard to breath. We learned that the best time is between October and April. In Mauritius we did not have any problem with humidity and water was very clear not so in the Seychelles. If you can change the time of the year or go to Mauritius you will probably make your parents more happy. If you are coming from the U.S.(I'assuming since your address is aol.com) that it is a long flight, 10 hours from Europe, maybe you should ask them if they want to go that far. Whatever you decide do not go in June. Good luck finding right palce for your parents' June trip.
Did you think about Maldives in June? We went there last June and it was fantastic. This June we are going to Zanzibar
