Setswana pronunciation

In the countries we visit, we have tried to learn a few words of the local language out of respect. So, in preparation for our Botswana visit, we are looking at some Setswana - most of the pronunciation looks pretty straightforward, but how do you pronounce Rra and Mma? And, I say that the pronunciation doesn't look too hard, but I could be wrong - what could trip me up? To put this in context, I'm pretty good with languages.

Mma is just Ma, or Mah, and Rra, Ra (Rah), with a slight roll of the R, I believe).

OK - then the written double consonant has no bearing on pronunciation.

Thanks!

Momliz- LAleslie is right the Dumela Rra is pronounced with a slight roll of the r's. Here is a website that has a few Setswana phrases with audio links to pronunciation:

The double consonant is there for a reason. In Mma and Rra, you spend a little more time on the m's and r's that in the English use of ma and pa as mother and father.
