We will be at the Ngorongoro Srenea Lodge for 2 nights in February.
From there we were supposed to go to the Serengeti Serena Lodge for 2 nights,
and then the Sopa Lodge for 2 nights.
The tour operator informed me that the requested nights at Serena are not available,
so scheduled Sopa first, then Serena.
Isn't that back tracking? Extra travel time?
I would like feedback please.
Also recommendations for very nice accomodations in the Serengeti comprable to the Serena or even better.
My goal is to see the migration during that time period. We are there first 2 weeks of Feb.
Thank you very much,
Molly

In February, you'd be better off in the southern Serengeti (Ndutu area.) You might ask them to check on Lake Masek Tented Camp or some of the seasonal tented camps in that area. Ntudu Lodge might be a choice, but fills rather quickly at that time of year.
Inasmuch as February is peak season, not unusual even 6-7/months out that certain dates are not available. While it is a bit of backtracking from Sopa to Serena, the actual drive time is probably 1.5/hrs and a game drive either direction... no big deal really.
However, as ShayTay mentions, if you can possibily get a camp in the Ndutu area for a few days - Ndutu Lodge (probably fully booked for Feb), there's also Lake Masek, Lemala, Olakira, Unbuntu camps (and others) should be asked about. Prices though for these might be higher than the Sopa (for sure) and the Serena (both of which are lodges).
Flying another 'base de Nice' flight. by orbitmic; Today at 11:35pm. Baggage fee change effective June by jiburi; Today at 11:34pm. Airline squeeze: It's not .

We stayed at the Ngorongoro Serena, the Serengeti Serena, and the Kirawira Luxury Camp July 2010. Kirawira is wonderful and in the Serengeti.
