Red Sea or Dead Sea

I have just received 2 itineraries from a tour company. One with a trip to the Dead Sea - the other to the Red Sea. Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas? Thank you.

Well, my initial thought is that this would be comparing an apple to a pineapple.

Although you can go into the Dead Sea, and the hotels have indoor spas, it's not the Red Sea.

At the Red Sea you would be able to sit on a beach and swim in the water, snorkel, dive, etc The Dead Sea is strictly for floating on top and maybe absorbing the mineral benefits. You can't 'swim' in the sea because you can't get under the water enough and if you get the salty water in your eyes it's very painful.

What do you want to experience at the two places?

The Red Sea has some great snorkelling while the Dead Sea is just for floating, as mentioned above. I've been to the Dead Sea twice and I really enjoyed it, as it's one of the most unique places in the world.

Please give us an idea of what interests you the most and maybe we can be of more help.

Where exactly are your going? Egypt? Jordan? Israel? Routing to/from either of these "seas?". They aren't near one another and quite different.

That's right. You haven't even said if you are visiting Israel, Egypt, or Jordan. I read another posting about a month or so ago where someone was doing a tour of Egypt which went to the Red Sea coast in Sinai, and then they were taking a Ferry up to Aqaba, then on to Petra.

the questions everyone else asked are super important, but without knowing any other details i'd say go to the dead sea. it's such an awesome place, and floating in it is just such a unique opportunity that a lot of people don't have!
