My fiancé and I will be going on our honeymoon in mid June. We will have about two - three days in capetown. One day we will be going on a tour of the wineries with a group. What should we do the other day? Lay out on the beaches or head out to see penguins? What is affordable and a "must see". We are staying at the hollow boutique hotel... Is it safe/ nice?
Also, has anyone stayed at the lion sands river lodge in Kruger? That's where we are booked. I need packing help! Also, what other things are there to do in between the game drives??

Hi Jonesy,
You will enjoy the wine tour but I suggest you do it on day 2 instead of day 1. You may have jetlag and not have much “appetite” for wine on day 1. On day 1, I suggest you take a full-day shared peninsula tour. ON this tour, make sure it specifies Boulders Beach because that is where you see the penguins. I would not plan on spending a day at the beach. June can be quite cold in Cape Town and the water temperature is about 55F that time of year. Ideally 4 nights at a minimum is best for Cape Town.
The Hollows hotel is OK. It is large 3 or 4 star property in the city center. If you can get out of it I would but only because you are on a budget. If you are staying at Lion Sands for 3 nights then they will give you two FREE nights at their hotel in Cape Town on this special: http://www.morehotels.co.za/promotions.asp (scroll down to see the “SEE MORE PROMOTION”).
The two hotels you can choose from are Cape Cadogan and More Quarter Apartments. Both are fine for a honeymoon and more upscale than Hollows. I hope you did not miss out on this opportunity.
I have been to Lion Sands many times. You will love it! I have also stayed at More Quarters/Cape Cadogan by myself and with my wife and kids.
