Question about Yellow Fever certificate
I also posted on Tripadvisor for those of you who are active in both you may see it there too.
I am leaving in just over three weeks and getting my stuff together I realize that I have misplaced my Yellow Fever doc. I have it scanned into my computer because I sent it off for my East Africa visa, which was approved, and now can't find it.
Hoping that someone has just been with a certificate that was from over 10 years ago can chime in.
Question. I did get a yellow fever vaccination in 2006 and now the WHO says that rather than every 10 years one should last a lifetime. This has to be accepted by the country you are going to however and I get different answers on that question whether Uganda/Rwanda will accept.
I do have that certificate from 2006
I lost the other one that I got in Sept 2016. It said that I did not have to have one because of my age/medical situation.
Do you know if they will accept vaccinations of over 10 years? Do you think that the scanned copy will do for the exception?. Or do I have to go back and pay for another certificate?
Thanks for any info.

I'd call the doctor who gave you the certificate in 2016 and ask for a replacement. Better that than being turned away or forced to get the vaccination on arrival, no? You have time to make this a non-issue, I'd do that. My understanding is that it has to be in an officially acceptable document (for US citizens the yellow CDC booklet) and facsimiles aren't accepted.

Yes this is when I start to lose focus and the days drag. I always go in Feb and every year once the holidays are over it creeps by until departure!
Glad you had a quick fix to your YF cert! Now you're ready to go!

We just got back! They did look at our certificates as we went in before immigration. They did not look super hard so am not sure they really hard but it was nice to have an up to date one to show. Have a great trip!
