Private Tour Guide For Family With Kids Traveling to Israel

We are planning a trip to Israel next spring. This is our first visit and we are traveling with our children ages 10 and 13. We would like to hire a private guide who is knowledgeable and good with families with children. Some of the names that I have picked up from previous posts are: Jeff Abel, Dina Horn and Dubi Tours. I would appreciate any feedback about these guides as well as anyone else that we should consider.

Thanks!

We used (and loved) Yoni Shapira (yoni-lin @ netvision .net.il ) mobile: 972-52-3675943

Also the Archaeological Seminars Institute in Jerusalem can coordinate an archaeologically-oriented guide for you. http://www.archesem.com, [email protected], contact: Heidi Stern 02 5862011

Enjoy your trip! Israel has so much to offer.

Good listings with details and credentials important.

David Wexler good Jerusalem expertise from Dallas originally

careful many scammers here and there beware scammy

shops/shysters guides who take you there get secret kickbacks .
insuremytrip.com always wise... Happy Travels!

May I suggest Carole Kracer, an old time friend of ours who is an Israel travel expert...she's based here in California and is a noted Western US arranger for an Israeli based organization whose guides are highly regarded. We have had several family friends with children that used her services to full satisfaction.

My wife and I used Arnon Eshel. He is in his early forties and was a Major in the Israeli Army.
I am sure that you and your family will love him. He is, of course, licensed, knowledgeable and easy to be with.
Additionally, his rates are extremely reasonable.
You can contact him by E-Mail at [email protected].
Say hello to him from Ann and jerry.
Have a great trip.

I second using Arnon. Hello Ann & Jerry from Arnon. I told him I got his name from 1 of your posts. Anyway, I wish he would write down everything he told me, from the ancient to modern history to the sociology of the population to just his take on living in Israel. This was my 3rd time to visit and Arnon took me to sites that were fascinating and off the beaten path, because thats what I asked for. You will be very happy if you contact him. And you will love Israel!

JerryS and zwho,

I am trying to get in touch with Arnon; but my emails don't go through. Is that the correct email address? When did you tour with him? We are interested in a private guide for the Spring.
Any other recommendations would be of course appreciated. Thank you very much.

wk, it may be confusing since it is "e_arnon..." and the "e" comes out in black and not blue. Try it again.

JerryS - thank you very much. I just sent Arnon another email. Hopefully, this one will get to him.

We toured with Dina in June and LOVED her. We were 2 families of 4 (older kids 19-22). We generally are do-it-your-selfers but decided we really needed to do Israel right and go with a guide. She was the best, I can not say enough good things. She's knowledgeable, has lots of energy, great sense of humor, and open to talk about just about everything and anything.

My husband and I hired Shalom Langer for 5days in Oct. It was very informative and we had a great time.
