hi Jack
do you mean Lake of Galilee? when?
anyhow, my suggestion is to look for a "zimmer"

in Upper Galilee i recommend Amitai family at Mattat
search for "Beit Amitai", Mattat cabins/zimmer

We toured quite a bit of the Galilee area from Nazareth. Fauzi Azar Inn. I would highly recommend it.

Last July, we stayed at the Frenkels B&B, it is inside a small, gated village (Korazim) located at the very top and north end of the Sea of Galilee. It was very easy to drive all around the Galilee area as well as up into the Golan.

The Frenkels (Etha & Erwin) have three rooms to rent and all have outside entrances. Etha (American born) and Erwin (German born) retired to Korazim after living in Jerusalem for 38 years. Erwin was the editor of the Jerusalem Post newspaper, and Etha was a school psychologist and family counselor. They are VERY interesting to talk to and are a great source of info (esp. for us who are not Jewish and have lots of questions).

The B&B is on an acre and surrounded by lovely, flowering gardens with benches and chairs interspersed . . . nice places to sip a glass of wine and watch the hummingbirds. The back of his lot is planted in olive trees . . . Erwin said he gets about 144 liters of olive oil/year and Etta cures many of the olives.

We had the downstairs unit, which is also handicap accessible. We had a big living room with sofa (makes into a bed), comfy chairs, mini-refrigerator, coffee/tea service, TV, great a/c . . . a bedroom with twin beds and a ceiling fan (always a plus) . . . and a bath with glassed-in shower and even a heated towel rack. There was a big bowl of fresh fruit and another of home-made cookies in our living room . . . what a nice touch!

We stayed for 3 nights ($125/nt last July) and the rate included a huge breakfast . . . Erwin is quite the baker, wait until you try his rolls!

They have a website . . . www.thefrenkels.com/index.html

This was the best place we stayed, it was gret!

If you want more of a hotel or guest house (as opposed to the "zimmer" or B& B's recommended above), there are quite a few kibbutz guest houses in the area. Have you tried Hagoshrim, Ginossar, Maagan, Ayelet Hashahar, Kfar Blum and Kfar Giladi? These are all kibbutz guest houses/ hotels in the area of the Galilee. You can see these and many more on this website.

I am assuming (hoping) you will have a car? Hope this helps.
