Hi all -- we'll be coming from a safari in S. Africa and are looking for a few relaxing days on the beach before we have to go home. We had planned to hit the Seychelles, but logistically the flights there and back are making it a bit hard, so we're considering Mozambique instead.
We've looked at Benguerra Lodge, Marlin Lodge, Indigo Bay and Azura -- all seem quite nice. Since they're all pricey, we want to make sure pick the best option -- anyone have suggestions? How are the beaches? Also, this trip will be at the end of June -- is Mozambique too chilly then to enjoy the beach and pool?
One final question: will a tour operator or travel agent experienced in the region be able to get us a better rate than the hotel offers online? We came up empty trying to get a better rate for the Four Seasons in the Seychelles through third parties (which is partly why we started looking elsewhere, as well). Thanks in advance for the help!

Why don't you contact a travel agent in SA and see what they can come up with?
I used this agency for my first trip (SA, Bots, VicFalls) and thought they were superb; they have an 800 number and are very responsive to e-mail:

Thanks for the tip! If anyone else has a recommendation for a travel agent or tour operator familiar with Mozambique, please let me know. I appreciate the help...
Just planned a honeymoon to SA and Mozambique (may 2011), we planned through Africa Uncovered. They were extremely responsive and worked within our budget. Will be staying at Azura (may 2011), your best bet is Trip Advisor for more info. It seems they have mixed reviews, but im excited nontheless.
