Wow what a great trip! Wonderful report. Thankyou!. I'll show it to my OH later - he may be going to Oman on business and I want to go with him!
Very amusing report! Must say, I'm a little concerned about our 2day layover in Dubai enroute to Africa-it wasn't high on my list of must-sees although Oman sounds interesting.
Great page!! thanks for sharing it.
Great trip report. I was also on vacation in Dubai and Oman the final week of November 2006 (same week as you, according to the dates on your trip report). This is the link to photos from my trip (I also went to Bahrain and the other six Emirates):

WOW-those are wonderful photos Michael!! Would love to see the camel market and the forts of Oman(and try a camel milk mojito).
That is superb. Knowing the place as I do, if anyone wants a superbly written, outrageously funny and essentially razor-sharp and accurate snapshot of Dubai and what it has to offer, then look no further than this great travelogue. Thanks for making my day.
