Doesn't an unexpected storm fall into the category of "force major - weather?" Last I checked, onto which the rain falls - tiles, dirt, roofs, other - will get wet and slippery! For the same reason he ran inside (by why leave his stuff outside?), staff was also, for clean-up once the storm passed.

In shock for four months - is that even possible?
For most people this would be a moment where you realize how stupid you've been and go quietly, but instead this compensation culture has been fostered, where someone has to be to blame. The only person at fault here is dufus guest.

What a tosser. I am sorry but these stories really get to me. In Kenya there have been a few cases like this, and I feel for the lodge/camp, who have usually gone out of their way to create a magical experience, which gets ruined by a force of nature. I wish such guests would stay in their home countries and not ruin it for others.

I think also it's the "compensation culture" which drives some people to just grab any chance to cash in.
Hopefully they publish the result of it all.
If that guy wins ......indemnity forms get even longer ;-)
That reminds me of the 80s when it became fashion to book a package holiday and just look for faults in order to claim a compensation on return.
Thank you for stating your thoughts.
