We have finally decided to use Gamewatchers for our Sep. 2010 safari. They have up to this point very easy to work with. What I need now are some words of wisdom, helpful hints and anything anyone has to offer that will make our trip that much more enjoyable. We will be visiting the Selenkay Conservancy, Ol Pejeta Conservancy and the Mara and staying at Amboseli Porini, Rhino and Lion Porini. We will be flying from camp to camp.
Thanks in advance for any info.

No words of wisdom except that I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
What is your camera setup? Once we know, then some words of wisdom might be given regarding that.
This may not be wise, but be on the lookout for me. We might cross paths.

I've just realized that I have "assigned" you so much that (per the discussion on the Safari Tour Companies thread) I might be counseled to move to Orange County, CA and embark on a lucrative career.
If you think you might have any interest at all in birds, get a bird book for East Africa. There was a link on the most common 20-30 birds or so. Maybe someone can supply it or you can find it. Review them so you'll recognize those names.
Follow the same strategy with Swahili. Just learn some key polite words and animal names.
Get your medical needs (malaria, etc.) taken care of well in advance. Last minute may mean certain drugs can't be administered together.
There are book lists posted. May I recommend West with the Night by Beryl Markham. Since you are in Amboseli, any Cynthina Moss books or DVDs would be good detailing her work with eles.
Check in here often so we can share in your excitement of your upcoming trip!
Here's that bird list. It is for Botswana, but most of the common ones listed are the same.

My husband has a new Sony SLR camera ? model with lenses of various sizes. I'll have my small fujifilm point and shoot it takes really good pics, but not distance shots. A new camcorder is on my Christmas list.
You gave me the kind of info I was looking for.
Thanks
I think you have the image capturing aspect of the trip covered.
