After poring over websites and reading posts, I have narrowed down my choice of accomodations in Cape Town in March to the following. I will not have a car and am a middle aged woman traveling alone so safety definitely issue. Many places are booked but these have vacancies
Liberty Lodge 33 De Lorentz in the Tamboerskloof area
Rouge on Rose in Bo Kaap
City Lodge at waterfront
All are about $100 - $130 night US Any thoughts?
Just also wondering about getting cabs on way back to lodging - safe? anything to be aware of?
thanks
Pam
Narrowed lodging choice down to 3 in Cape Town - what do you think?

I stayed at Liberty Lodge. The woman who runs it is charming and talkative. I'm sure she'd give you lots of tips as a solo, female traveler. The Tamberskloof area is very walk able, with many cute restaurants. I felt safe even at night in the neighborhood.
I'd also add that while I'm not familiar with Rouge on Rose, the Bo Kaap area felt a bit "edgier" and not quite as safe as Tamberskloof.
I'm booked in here this June and am also a middle aged female traveling solo. Reviews I've read are great and my dealings with them so far have been top notch.
