I've been agonizing over the beach portion of our upcoming holiday. There doesn't seem to be much info here about beaches off the coast.
I've got it narrowed down to the St Geran in Mauritius OR Benguerra Lodge in Mozambique.
ANYone have ANY thoughts?

Hello Buffyp73,
I think you've answered your own question in the previous thread on this topic. You said you wanted a quiet, relaxed spot that still offered upscale accommodation. But you did say you didn't want a place with a "resort" feel.
I haven't been to either of these places, but their websites give some indication of what you can expect.
St. Geran has a golf course, tennis courts, horseback riding, spa, boutique, gym with personal trainers, hairdressing salon, casino, Sun Kids Club.
Benguerra Lodge is on an 11 km x 5 km island that is part of a national park. No golf course, no tennis court, no horseback riding, no spa, no boutique, no gym, no personal trainer, no hairdressing salon, no casino, no Sun Kids Club.
St. Geran has 163 accommodation units. Benguerra Lodge has 11 accommodation units.
St. Geran sounds like a "resort." Benguerra Lodge does not.
I haven't been to Mauritius, but my parents have, and they liked it a lot.
I've never been to Benguerra Island, but we used to go to Mozambique regularly before the war. It was a lovely place with lovely people. I wish them healing and recovery from the terrible times they've been through. I expect Benguerra Island would have escaped the worst ravages of the war.
It's unfortunate for you that Benguerra Lodge is new enough that it hasn't been able to accumulate many reviews that you can check out. Still, if I were you, I would put my money on Benguerra Lodge.
