Namibia Planning - NWR Off Season offers?

My eyes are starting to cross with all the reading I've been doing for our upcoming 3 weeks in Namibia in late February/early March 2010. I do recall reading somewhere that the NWR (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) have very good off season specials but can't find any evidence of that on their website. (there is a reference to a special for Namibian and SA residents).

Perhaps it is too early - does anybody know when/if they announce specials?

Thanks!

I suggest you put your question about specials to The Cardboard Box. They do a lot of booking for Namibia. I've used them and they seem to do a good job. See: http://www.namibian.org/

Good luck, Steve

As far as I can tell, NWR has one rate year round. If you are going to book with them, I suggest you contact Madeleine in the NWR Cape Town office. She is very competent has assisted me a couple of times. Recently she was helpful when we were on a wait-list for Etosha in September. It took a while, but we were finally able to get the accommodation we wanted. I also suggest you book as early as possible.

I had a reply to my question on TA - a local operator said that last year about a month before low season NWR announced specials up to 40% off - so I'll watch for those this year

Did the discount apply to everyone or just SADC residents, as is often the case with some of these great prices.
