Mpumalanga visit

During the June/July school holiday we will be visiting Mpumalanga and Limpopo. We are 4 adults and 3 children. (Ages 9,7 and 4). As we have a very long way from the Western Cape, we would like to have more than one base in Mpumalanga where we do not have to drive long distances to attractions every day. At the moment our itinerary is as follows:
1.Gariep Dam
2.Clarens
3.Badplaas Forever (Mostly for the children)
4.
5. Hoedspruit
6. Phalaborwa (A must to see family)
7. Hazyview
Back south.
We are looking for a place to stay at numer 4 for 3 nights. The dates will be 27 June for 3 nights.
We like self-catering and do not want to stay in a BnB.
I will appreciate recommendations. Mid range prices.
