Morroco during Holidays
We have around 5 days after Christmas in England and are considering Morroco.
I realize it might be cold (which I'm not a fan of) and it's a short time but what I'm most concerned is the crowds....Will it be really busy during the holidays.
Any advice or suggestions is reallly appreciated!

Morocco is only 1% Chirstian so it's hard to imagine large crowds at that time of year. I was there around New Years 2004 and I didn't think it was crowded at all. And it was definitely not cold, in fact the weather was fantastic. In my pictures I'm wearing short sleeves during the daytime.

There are plenty of European tourists and other foreigners in Morocco around the Christmas holidays. It is seen as a "winter sun" destination, and lots of people like to avoid the consumerism that accompanies Christmas....not a santa or a reindeer in sight around here. So it is in fact high-season, which means that if you are looking to stay in mid to high range accommodation, book it now.
Also, with regards to P_M's comment....I wouldn't say warm weather is a given. Weather can really surprise people here and particularly at night it is practically freezing, whether you are in the north or south. You are more or less assured of pleasant temperatures (Highs in the high teens) during the day, particularly in the South. If the cold is a factor then you will want to find out how your accommodation heats its rooms, as a frequent complaint about Riads in winter is that they are freezing cold.

PM-I found this thread and was wondering if you could let me know what cities you visited in Morocco when you went and for how long. I am thinking of planning a trip there for this holiday season with my family. Thanks!

Hi dutyfree, I visited Fez, Marakkesh and we had an afternoon in Casablanca. I was in Fez and Marakkesh about 2-3 full days each. We also had one day in Rabat. I wish we had allowed more time for Casablanca, that was a beautiful place and the water was gorgeous.

I did a Cosmos tour and I semi-recommend that tour. This was the Spain, Portugal and Morocco tour. The Spain part was good except the bus rides were long. Portugal was better, it's so small there weren't such long bus rides from one place to another. Morocco was the best part for me.
For the most part it was good but like most tours it was rushed. I didn't have a traveling companion so I took the tour. If tours are of any interest I have heard Gate 1 does a nice Morocco tour. Of course it's doable on your own so if that's your plan I hope someone else can help.
