Morocco or Croatia/London

Morocco or Croatia/London
My husband and I are planning a second trip this year for the summer. We are going to South Africa and Amsterdam in January. We want to do a second trip that is less expensive but still wonderful. We are deciding between Morocco or Croatia/London. I do have some issues about the safety of Morocco. Any thoughts? I love fancy hotels, but I don't want to spend more than $400 a night on this trip given the safari we are going on earlier in the year.

Morocco is perfectly safe! I am a young American woman who has lived in Fes for three years - I've never felt threatened or in danger anywhere in Morocco. Inexplicably, Morocco has gotten a bad reputation in the press, but I can assure you that the reality is very different. People are friendly and welcoming (of course, there may be the odd rude person, but hey, you find those everywhere!) and do not judge people by their nationality or background.
And if you like fancy hotels, Morocco has some real gems! Check out the Villa des Orangers or Riad Enija in Marrakech and any of the riads in Fes (the bulk of which are $120-250 per night). You can have a wonderful experience for much less than £400 per night.

I do advise you to visit Morocco as it is a tourist and cheap country .you will explore the new way of living . It is really another world .Even in Morocco habits and traditions differenciate according to areas and races . I advise to visit the desert . it is a nice romantic and quiet area .You will have the chance to ride camels and breathe clean air .Staying there will cost you less than the amount you mentioned per day .

I 100% second Riad Enija. I stayed there a year or so back and it is completely magical.

I have been to all three destinations, and my vote would be Croatia/London.
I have been to London dozens of times, including over this Thanksgiving, and its fascinating. Aside from drinks with Kavey, the highlight this trip was a meal at The Fat Duck, recently voted the world's best restaurant.
I have spent a few days in Zagreb, but next August I will visit the Croatian coast, around Dubrovnik. And the islands and beaches look stunning.
As for Morocco, there is no place I have been where I have been so persistently and annoyingly pestered by "guides" and shopkeepers. The sites and cities in Morocco are marvelous, but the constant bombardment is so f*#@!g annoying!

Remember that Summer in Morocco will be just that, HOT HOT HOT! Granted at the price you wish to spend, though it's not necessary, you will have air conditioned accommodations, but think about when you're out on the street or in the desert.
If you haven't already done so, check a few websites for Moroccan itineraries to get an idea of what cities/towns you wish to visit. You can then arrange to be transported between by private driver/guide in an air conditioned Mercedes. Likewise, you'll have a guide with you who can negotiate touts that are found in all countries.
If the heat is a concern, then head to Croatia/London. Unless there is a fluke with the weather, as back three years ago everywhere on the Continent... the latter will be much cooler.
