Morocco desert - what shoes to bring?
Hi everyone,
I'm leaving next week for a 2 week trip to Morocco. We'll be spending time in Fes, Marrakech and we're doing the camel into the desert trek.
Obviously flip flops are a no-no in the desert, and I feel like sneakers would be a royal pain in the you know what. How about Keens? They're light and breathable and I don't need socks with them. However, still the issue of needing to shake sand out every 10 seconds.
Any suggestions for footwear in the desert for a couple days?
Thanks!

I climbed a few dunes in Morocco, and ended up taking my shoes off and walking around in socks the entire time.
The sand in the Sahara is so fine, it's very difficult to keep it out of any shoe. Also, with the sand being so soft (except the spines of the dunes), footwear was not too useful.
