Try Kasbah Mohayut. Nice hotel with a pool and their desert camp is literally in the middle of the erg with nothing else around. Good luck!

i would also suggest whether Riadnezha or Hotel Kasbha Yasmina. both are good ones.

We stayed last December in Auberge du Sud in Merzouga (nothing fancy, but clean and very convenient). Arrived in the early afternoon and I have to say it was great.
The Auberge is within walking distance to the dunes and the tents are already set up. The auberge arranges for the camel rides. It happened to be a very cold night so we spent some time in the tents, relaxing and listening to music and later decided to sleep in our rooms. We enjoyed the sunset camel ride; we had the dunes pretty much to ourselves. The best of both worlds. Have fun!

TO1:
last time we stayed in Erfoud, a lively place when compared to Merzouga...stayed the night at Riad Salam(take a cottage),and hired a guide to drive our car to Erg Chebbi in order to arrive before sunrse(I wasn't about to drive in the dark, unlit desert paths, etc) and it worked out well...we stoppd at a little forlorn hut called L'Oasis so we could have some coffee before sunup. Eventualy he drove us to remarkable military post, Rissani,and a most unique full-scale Berber market. We experienced the Todra and Dades gorges, stayed the next two nights in Ourzazate at the La Berbere Palace, day trips...to Fintt and Ait Benhadou...on
to remote Zagora and its road to Timbuctou for a night, then to Marrakech (4 nights)andEssaouira for three. Should mention we stayed three nights in Fes which has a medina that turns the clock back a few hundred years or more.

I refer to "the road to Timbuctou", with a sign indicating it...no, we did not drive to Tim...we'd still be there.
There's a classic joke about Timbuctou..but not for here!!
