Mixbook (photo album) of my Egypt trip
I'm new to online scrap-booking (discovered it through a great Groupon deal). After making my first book of my recent trip to India, I decided to do one for my daughter's birthday of our 2009 trip to Egypt - she's been captivated, along with the rest of the world - with the current events there. (Some of you may remember my trip report.)
Anyway, I'm really proud of it and wanted to share, so here it is!

(I haven't ordered the hard-copy yet - will do so later today - so comments are welcome.)

Great job, Karen! It brought back memories of my own trip to Egypt. I also bought that Mixbook Groupon and just started picking photos for a Mixbook project last night. Your book gave me an idea of what I can do... thanks!

Karen, your book is great. I'm sure Julie will love it; I know I would. I got a groupon for photobooks too and am looking forward to making my Egypt book once we're back! Off to read your trip report...

sf7307 - maybe the Mixbook site was temporarily down? I just checked and had no trouble getting to either book...
Grcxx3 - Groupon is a "deal-of-the-day" website. If you "join" (free), they'll send you an email every day for deals in your city/area (or some are nation-wide). My daughter introduced me to Groupon and you can get some incredible deals. The way it works is if you're interested in that particular deal, you click on the link in your email, which takes you to your Groupon account, you pay with credit card and Groupon provides a coupon for you to print -- which you then use at the restaurant or store or business. In this case, there was a "Groupon" for $15 that gave you $50 worth of stuff from Mixbook! So I decided to try it, paid Groupon $15, got my "Groupon coupon" - which had a code number on it, and when I went to Mixbook and ordered my book, there was a place to enter a promo code. I entered the Groupon number and... saved $35! Lots of the stuff they send is something I wouldn't be interested in, but once in awhile there will be a really good deal. Google recently tried to buy the Groupon company, but they said no. http://www.groupon.com/baltimore/
Here's the link for the Baltimore offers, but if you sign up, you'll pick your own city. Happy Groupon-ing.
