Hello. Thinking of booking a trip to Marrakesh for the end of April. We are on a limited budget. What do you suggest (food, lodging, activities, etc.)?

You generally can get by quite cheaply though I'm not sure what you mean as far as budget. $50 a day? $100? Riads might be your best bet for lodging at a decent rate. Most tourist sites don't cost much and food is relatively inexpensive. How much you spend will depend on what you want to do
Happy to give you more info if you'd like - Marrakech is my 2nd home.

We (2 senior ladies) just returned Mar 19 from Morocco and 3 nights in Marrakech . . . we are very much budget travelers.
We found the restaurants very inexpensive and the food stalls in the Fna are downright cheap . . . and good.
Our riad was Magie d'Orient and was approx $64/nt and was very nice and clean and about a 15-min walk from the Fna.
I typed up my notes and would be happy to send it to you, just email me at behrens@unt.edu if interested. I listed prices for everything.
If you go, don't miss the Marjorelle Gardens, they were the highlight of our trip. The house/museum was listed as Islamic Art but they were having a special exhibit of YSL's fashions instead and it was terrific.
The little cafe across the street has very good pizza, btw.

sandy: we are just beginning to plan an April 2012 trip to Madrid and Marrakesh (3 nights in Marrakesh). The riad you stayed in looks very nice. Can you give me any more feedback about your accomodations? Also, how did you get from the Airport to the riad?
