Mara plains, porini lion or kicheche bush ?
Hi
We are making another visit to the Masai mara in January and visiting rekero for three nights and want to follow it with three nights in one of the camps in the olare orok conservancy. Has anyone been to mara plains, porini lion or kicheche bush ?

I stayed at Kicheche Bush last year and found it to be a very comfortable, relaxed small camp with good guides (let them know if you're into ungulates or birds or what-have-you rather than cats). Because camp wasn't full when I was there, they assigned me a private vehicle. Pretty great but luck of the draw, of course.
Here's a pic of my tent:

Thanks.
For us, the quality of the guiding is really important. I think that only porini has a spotter as well as a driver.
Andy, how did you find the guiding (paricularly in relation to good photography) at mara plains ?

Mara Plains has some of the best qualified guides in Kenya, one of which is one of only a handful with a gold grade guiding license. Well tuned into photographers needs, and you can even rent a private vehicle at a reasonable USD200 per day which come complete with Canon 50D 28-135, 100-400 and 500mm lenses. Which is a steal and then they'll burn the images onto CDs for you when you leave. Mara Plains for me was the best camp I've been to in Africa, and I've stayed in many. Awesome management couple there. Request a tent overlooking the river and the plains beyond - more atmospheric and great for birdwatching.

Thanks everyone - have booked three days at Rekero and three at Mara Plains in February !
Nilswood, I have booked the private vehicle as you suggested but it is now $300 per day. At Rekero it is$250 per day.
