My adult son must take a trip to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea very shortly and I am trying to help him find out what he needs. We know he has to get shots but if you have been and have any helpful information you could pass on to us, I would greatly appreciate it.
We read that it is a cash country so what did you do with your money? And how did you carry it?

No One?
As no-one has come in on this I can give you some absolute basics.
If you sonis doing a trip to malabo I would 'guess' he must be going on business for his company ( oil ? ) in which case they would have a department that deals with all these matters.
Malabo is ( do distespect intended ) just way-off the tourist routes, from my limited knowledge I think Malabo has 1 hotel used by the oil companies.
As you say your son 'must make a trip' I can only pressume it is a business trip for whoever he works for, and as such they would have all the details.
Malabo is the island part of Equatorial Guinea, the mainland section being very undeveloped. Malabo is very much 'oil' and that is pretty much it.
If he is not going his his work then let us know.
Sorry for my terrible typos !
I think the main hotel used is the Sofitel.
Thanks, James. Yes, it is business but not oil. We have found out a lot. U-Tube actually has some footage someone took just driving down a street (search on Malabo if interested) which was interesting. Reading, reading.
