Luangwa River Lodge and Stanley Safari Lodge

I have just booked the following as I have some time off in 2 weeks...and have been to Zambia before but never to these camps but both look amazing and would like any feedback if people have been there before.

Rocco has just visited the new Luangwa River Lodge and, I think, he will be back end of this week. In the meantime have a look at this thread:

I've never visited the Falls and can't say anything about Stanley Safari Lodge.

If you are travelling solo, I would not recommend Stanley Safari Lodge -- the single supplement is outrageous.

Cheers,

I'll be at both lodges at the end of October. We're only going to Stanley to see the falls. All activities at Stanley are extra, so count on that in your budget. From what I've heard, the park on the Zambia side near Stanley has not too much wildlife, but you can tour to Chobe and we're doing the elephant back safari. If I didn't want to check Victoria Falls off my wonders of the world list, I'd have skipped this area and chosen a more "wild" location. Anxiously awaiting Rocco's trip report on Luangwa River Lodge which should be up around the 13th.
