Lower Zambezi to Sabi Sands

Do you know if you can get from the Lower Zambezi to a Sabi Sands camp such as Mala Mala all in one day?

How about vice versa--from Sabi Sands to Lower Zambezi in a day?

Or is an overnight along the way required?

Thanks

As we know, there are Zambia gurus who will chime in shortly, but I just wanted to mention that on the Proflight (Zambia) website (www.proflight-zambia.com) I noticed a direct flight from Livingstone to Kruger on Tues and Sat in high season June-Nov.

cruisinred,

This is great as it really opens up the possibilities for combining the Sabi Sand with Zambia. If I had this option for my own recently completed safari I would have been able to substitute Victoria Falls for Cape Town (apples and oranges, I know) and done something like this with my 19 nights:

Kasaka River Lodge (3) although if I could have a second chance I would have selected Chiawa
Chongwe River Camp (3)
Puku Ridge (3)
Luangwa River Lodge (3)
Royal Livingstone (2)
Londo Bateleur (4) In place of Simbambili since with a fourth night CCAfrica special I would be paying Simbambili rates but getting Londolozi traversing rights
Return flight to Livingstone and onward to Lusaka.
Lusaka I/C Hotel (1)
Return flight out of Lusaka - Nairobi - Amsterdam/London/Paris

No need to even fly into Johannesburg with this new flight for anyone wanting to combine Zambia with the Sabi Sand. It is about time one of the air charter companies offers this option.

Considering that it is only $560 for a return flight, I think it is a good deal but its biggest value is in the time it saves.

That flight is probably either via Pietersburg or KMIA as you need to pass through customs before landing in the Sabi Sands.
