Lodge advise

Our family of five have inquired with two touring companies and each has come up with two different lodges and we are having trouble deciding. This is the first time our three teenagers are going, and it's only our second. We would greatly appreciate any advise. The camps are Motswari (Timabavati) and Idube (Sabi) or Monwana (thornybush) and Chitwa Chitwa . Thanks for all your help!

GD
all te lodges are in the same price range and all are in the greater kruger.

it's depending on your expectations!

sabi sabi is very well known over the world for leopard sightings - besides other big and other game.
so chitwa and idube are in the same vicinity.
timbavati and thornybush are slighty further.

just go to their websites and judge for yourself!

there is no particular reason which makes one more superior over the others.

it's difficult to make a choice - but you have to ;-)

idube

it would be nice to hear which one you have chosen in the end and afterwards reading your report on the lodges/trip!

happy planning!

Hi there! Thornybush is not part of the Greater Kruger National Park. Thornybush is a fenced in reserve, and has not been incorporated in the Greater KNP.
Both Timbavati & Sabi Sands are part of the Greater KNP, so no fences between them & Kruger. In my experience, the area that Idube conducts their game drives in, has always offers the best consistant big 5 game viewing, however, having said that, Chitwa Chitwa, which is located in the northern region of the Sabi Sands, also offers great game viewing. The Timbavati is traditionally a dryer region than the Sabi Sands, and with the vegetation sometimes being scarce, the game viewing can sometimes be a bit harder. I have had excellent safari experiences in the Timbavati though, and would still recommend it as a big 5 safari destination. Have you done any further research? Is there a reason why the agents are limiting your choice to these specific lodges? Perhaps limited availability?
