I'm visiting SA next august and not yet decided between 3 nights at hamiltons tended camp or a lodge in sabi private game reserve (e.g. simbambili, lion sands, etc).
Any suggestions?

Hamiltons is located in a Big-5 private concession area inside Kruger, you can't compare this with the public camps in the park. Mluwati Concession is like any other of the game farms in Sabi Sands.

if you prefer tented accommodation, then Hamiltons is something for you.

Sorry Irene, I misread your messge -- the title of the thread seemed to suggest you were trying to choose between staying at Kruger or a private reserve.
Another nice tented choice is Ngala Tented in the Timbavati area. Notten's in the Sabi Sand has also been recommended if you want a more homely feel.
