Just back from SA and Mozambique
Hi all I'm just back from n amazing two and a half week holiday in Cape Town, Sabi Sands and Bazaruto Mozambique. I stayed at 3 different lodges in Sabi Sands, Idube Lodge, Mala mala and Nottens and highlights included 6 leopard sightings, lions minutes after they had killed a wilderbeast ripping it apart, a leopard eating a large dead giraffe, lions on a giraffe kill, and wild dogs cornering a waterbuck and its baby in a small pond. Indigo Bay in Mozambique has been refurbished after the hurricane and is now really beautiful, we had the most awesome experience riding their beautiful horses down scary, incredibly steep sand dunes, the only problem is its over and all I want to do is go back. Rather tired now but will post a proper report in the next few days along with my opinion, for what its worth on the age old debate of whether Mala Mala lives up to its reputation, bye for now.. Yvonne

Welcome home Yvonne. Great highlights! I was just reading on the Mala Mala cyberdiary that there are new Styx pride lion cubs (Mar 25th). Was there any sign of the older Styx pride lion cubs? I haven't read anything lately about them. I see the wild dogs are still in the area too. <)

Welcome back Yvonne! Sounds like you had some fantastic game viewing but I'm really interested to hear about the redone Indigo Bay. It's quite possible that I had the best food of my life on Indidgo Bay's beach braais so I'm looking forward to hearing how your experience was.

OK sorry, folks work got me for a few days and didn't notice these replys. Confusingly I've started a new thread called Sabi Sands trip report and have started with my first couple of days at Idube lodge but will post Mala mala and Indigo bay on that one, suffice to say the BBQ at Indigo Bay still rocks and I just can't wait to get back there, Yvonne
