Going to Jordan in a few days.
In Egypt we did not eat raw vegetables nor drink water from the tap as many people said that our american stomachs could not tolerate it. Is this also the case in Jordan?
Also what are the temps/weather like in Petra this time of year? ie should we be wearing shorts or jeans to hike Petra and tour in Jeeps in Wadi Rum?
Thanks.

to the top...
dear david,
in jordan you can eat raw vegetables ,but for water you cant use tap water in hotels ,in houses yes you can ,it is clean &filtered water .
weather in jordan is cold
The water in Jordan is said to be okay, but I drank bottled water anyway. Take some immodium or Lomotil just in case, because the bathrooms can be a bit iffy, and they can be few and far between - try running through Petra trying to get back to the loos!
