Johannesburg Domestic Bidvest Lounge

Hi Fodorittes
I have a 5 hour layover at the domestic terminal in Joburg and wonder if anyone has used the Bidvest Pay for Use Lounge. Just need somewhere for a decent shower and a coffee after a long trip from Australia and before my domestic flight to Polokwane.
Thank you
Elaine

I've used the lounge over in the Intl terminal. I think it's an excellent value and I don't see why the one in the domestic terminal would be otherwise. Available services are shown here:

Thank you Steve
The link you shared gives me all the info I need.
Will be a good refresher stop.
Cheers

Elaine: In case you seek an alternative; may travelers seem to "camp out" in this restaurant located in the hotel across from the terminals.

Hi ekscrunchy
Is that your love of gourmet food speaking?
Might try it for brunch as the SAA domestic flight "sandwich" lunch is shocking and it will be a long wait until I get to Mopane.

Hi, Elaine! My love of good food was inquiring, but I am not sure I received the most favorable response from Quills!!

Having said that, the kitchen put in a good effort and service was kind enough. Quills, easy to reach from the terminals, does make a convenient place to park yourself, and your bags, for a couple of hours between flights. Food prices are high, though I got around these by ordering just one soup and wine (more details on another thread that I can bring up if you like..) There seemed to be many more mid-range to fast-food option in the terminal itself than I had remembered from a few years ago. Certainly lots of shops although beyond the bookstore, I cannot vouch for how interesting those shops are.

While lounging at Quills, I did get the "benefit" of an interesting one-sided phone conversation that appeared to be about the man on my side of the phone trying to sell arms to a nearby country.....said conversation went on for the good part of two hours and kept us eavesdroppers entertained, and a bit shocked....so although there are no movie theaters on site, who knows what the scheduled entertainment will be on the morning you visit!!??

Hi Ekscrunchy
Yes I found quite a few new food options in the domestic terminal on my last visit in August.
But I will find it hard to venture past the bookshop to stock up on some reading. Might even find an audio book on arms dealing
