Itinerary Help for Kenya Honeymoon, October 2013

Jump to last reply

My fiance & I are planning our honeymoon for October 2013 & are hoping to get a little advice about itineraries. We've been looking at numerous tour companies & packaged trips, but haven't found exactly what we're looking for yet. My fiance found a small company that does customized trips & along with some standard templates they showed us as examples, they suggested we come with a few things we are most interested in seeing so they could make it the best trip for us...

We're hoping for a trip of about 10-12 days, are most interested in Kenya at this point (though open to other suggestions), and hope to keep it to $5000 per person (excluding international airfare). We're hoping to make this a very wildlife-heavy trip & want to see a variety of animals.

Days 1-2: Nairobi
Days 3-4: Ol Pejeta (Poirini Rhino Camp?)
Days 5-6: Samburu (Elephant Watch Camp?)
Days 7-8: Lake Nakuru (Flamingo Hill Tented Camp?)
Days 9-11: Masai Mara (Karen Blixen Camp?)
Day 12: Nairobi

Suggestions on the feasibility of this would be great:
-are we cramming too much into the trip (should we cut down on the # of stops?)
-not accounting for how long it takes to drive between places?
-not getting a good mix of different experiences?
-missing something we 'absolutely must' see?

Thank you so much for any suggestions!
Amanda
