Israel and Petra

Jump to last reply

There are four seniors planning a 15 day trip to Israel in July. I know that it is very hot there, but that seems to be the only time we can go. At the moment our plan is to go to Tel Aviv and spend two nights. We want to go to Petra. Is it advisable to go via air to Eilat, spend two nights, go to Petra and come back to Tel Aviv or should we take a private tour from Tel Aviv, visit Masada and the Dead Sea on the way to Eilat. We were planning on having a private tour on the following six days.
Day 7 going to Caesara, Akko, and Haifa
,Day 8 to Gaililee, Nazeth, Sepphoris, and Tiberiago
Day 9 Golan Heights
Day 10 Masada and the Dead Sea (?)
Day 11 Tour of Old Jerusalem
Day 12 Tour of the New City
Days 13-14 On our own in the old city
Day 15- Fly back to US. Problem may occur as this is a Saturday and we will need a taxi to go to the airport. Any suggestions for Jerusalem car service to the Airport. We can still change anything. We are only locked into the flight on July 26. We are two senior couples in our 60's and 70's having never gone to Israel before. All suggestions would be appreciated.
