Israel

Hi all - I am brand new to this site and am hoping to get ideas from you. Read so many of your comments and thought you would be most helpful.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Egypt first then Israel. We have 14 full days of touring available to us. I want to see all the Egyptian hightlights and go on a 3 night Nile cruise. And I to see the highlights of Israel. The problem I have come across is that most tours start in Israel and end in Egypt and fllights to Israel from Egypt are very inconvenient.
I haven't found one tour that goes that way and don't want to have to take 2 separate tours. Does anyone know of one tour that will go to both places starting with Egypt first. In Israel I am not looking to go on a religious tour, rather historical. A small group would be perfect. Thanks so much!!!!!

Try Gate 1 if you want a group tour. The company does a joint trip to Israel and Egypt.

Try STI Travel in New Jersey if you want an individual program. I know that the company does an add-on to Jerusalem from their Egypt trips.

Pat, I have been checking tours for over 2 weeks and STI Travel is the only one that I see who does the tour with Egypt first. Might have to customize a bit to get dates I need but just what I was looking for!! Have you heard good things about them? Thanks again.

Actually, we travelled with them to Egypt in February 2010. Ours was a "customized" tour because we wanted to see a couple places not on any of their regular itineraries. It turned our that we had our own private guide during part of the trip and shared a guide with one other couple during the other part of the trip. We did a cruise from Luxor to Aswan.

Ideally, you should do your homework first about what exactly you want to do and see in both locations. Then contact tour companies. Give them an idea of the class of hotel that you want, also. I only gave a general description of desired hotels at first and changed on of STI's suggestions so they redid the price quote.

Have a good time.
