Independence Day in Israel

Jump to last reply

I expect to be in Jerusalem on Independence Day, April 23, 2015. Although it fits into the rest of our schedule, I'm wondering if this is a poor day to use a private guide. Will there be too many crowds, traffic, sites closed, etc.? We would probably be doing a lot of walking in the Old City with the guide and also checking out the various places with great views of Jerusalem.

If we should avoid using a guide that day (if one was even available), are museums open?

Thanks.
