How are you adapting to the electronics ban?

For those affected by the electronics ban, how have you adapted? We have been traveling with our iPad for 5 years and can't imagine traveling without it, yet would be very hesitant to check it in our luggage. The same goes for a camera. We are planning a trip to Morocco next year and am trying to consider ways of adapting to the ban, although I'm hoping it will be rescinded by then.

We use the iPad for so much: communication, research, and photo storage. We download our pix daily.

There is a thread on the Europe board discussing this issue as well, although I'm curious about experience by anyone who has already traveled from the affected areas.
