We're planning to get married in the Seychelles in June. Having read bad reports about Fisherman's Cove, our choices are now down to La Reserve (on Praslin) or the Plantation Club. Has anyone stayed in these hotels? It's important to me that they are pretty nice... Also, does anyone have first hand account of the weather around then? The stats look OK but someone mentioned the onslaught of the monsoon season! Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Barbara:
Our friends from Paris had nothing good to say about Fisherman's Cove or Plantation but in their opinion the best place to get married will be Praslin and not a big hotel but a small intimate place. Sorry I am not able to help you. We are going to be in the Seychelles in June too. Maybe will get to see your wedding! That would be special treat. Good luck with your plan. Don't worry about monsoon. That's what we were told.
We stayed at La Reserve almost two years ago and it was a wonferful place but our friends think that it is too quiet. So you never know. Anyway our friends like places with a big crowd and noise, big casinos and other things like that. To us it was just right. The most important that you will have a dependable travel agent. We witnessed some lost resevations but it was on Mahe in one of those hotels you mentioned.
Congratulations
Bobbie
We went two years ago to the Seychelles. While in Praslin we stayed at the Paradise hotel which I would not recommend. The top place in Praslin was the Archipel at the time but it was fully booked. I think you can see of a bit of the place on the www.ila-chateau.com web site.
