help please: flights via dubai, uae...

Jump to last reply

hi, my family and i are taking flights from birmingham, uk to hong kong, china. the flights are via dubai, uae. on the way out, the best price means a 9 hour 40 mins layover at dubai airport (0005-0945). should we:
(a) pay the extra £50 each (there are four of us) to have just a three hour layover in dubai instead?
or (b) pay £40 each for a night at the intercontinental hotel?
option (a) will cost more and may leave us tired when we get to hong kong, but it gets us there quicker.
option (b) costs less and gives us a bit of a rest between flights. we might arrive less ired in hong kong. but is it worth it considering we only have just over 9 hours?
we are having our main stopover in dubai on the way back.
is there a hotel at or nearer the airport than the interconti?
does the airport have a web site. i can't find it.
thanks in advance. xd.
